Professor Itai Cohen is a faculty member in the Department of Physics at Cornell University's College of Arts and Sciences. His research spans complex fluids, microrobotics, and biological tissue mechanics, with a focus on shear thickening, origami metamaterials, and flight dynamics.

- Complex Fluids: Shear thickening, anisotropic viscosity, and stress imaging in colloidal systems.
- Microrobotics: Development of autonomous microscopic robots with electronic integration.
- Origami Metamaterials: Scale-free folding principles for programmable mechanical structures.
- Biolocomotion: Flight control mechanisms in insects and collective motion studies.
