Professor Ingrid Muller is a Health Psychologist and Professor of Behavioural Medicine at the University of Southampton's Faculty of Medicine. She co-leads the Behavioural Science Research Group and specializes in developing behavioral interventions for self-management of long-term conditions such as eczema, acne, allergies, diabetes, and chronic dizziness. Her work emphasizes accessibility for individuals with low health literacy, particularly in young people and families. She co-created the Person-Based Approach, a mixed-methods intervention design methodology adopted internationally.
Current research focuses on digital health solutions, including Acne Care Online (NIHR-funded) for acne self-management and DISCA for ADHD-related sleep support. She collaborates on trials like RAPID for eczema and SAFA for acne treatment efficacy. Muller holds HCPC registration as a Health Psychologist and is a Chartered Psychologist with the BPS.
Her 15+ peer-reviewed articles (2023–2025) span behavioral health, digital interventions, and pediatric sleep medicine. Awards and recognitions include NIHR grants and leadership in interdisciplinary teams. She supervises five PhD candidates and advises on grants such as NIHR HTA and PGfAR programs.
