Dr. Ingeborg Lederer-Brüchner is a Research Associate at the Heidelberg Center for Jewish Studies, working on the DFG-funded Corpus Masoreticum project since April 2024. She specializes in medieval Jewish biblical exegesis, with a focus on the Book of Ruth and commentaries by Rabbi Josef Kara, using textual analysis of Hebrew manuscripts to trace interpretive traditions.
- Education: MA in Library and Information Science (Humboldt University Berlin, 2016), Magister Artium in Jewish Studies (Heidelberg University, 2008), and Abitur (2000).
Her research examines the evolution of biblical interpretations across manuscripts, particularly in Rashi's Book of Ruth commentaries and Masoretic texts. She has contributed to academic conferences and workshops, including the EAJS Congress and Hebrew Manuscript Studies in Berlin.
Notable projects include editions of medieval Jewish exegetical literature, contextualizing manuscript variations, and analyzing how interpretations regenerate across textual traditions. Her work bridges Jewish studies, manuscript studies, and biblical hermeneutics.
