Imke Brust serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the German Department at Haverford College, holding a Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University with foundational training from Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel, Germany.
Her research critically investigates 20th and 21st century German literature, film, and theater through frameworks of nationalism, post-colonialism, and globalization. Current work centers on the Reunification versus Reconciliation project, which analyzes literature and film in post-wall Germany and post-apartheid South Africa to explore alternative public spheres and tensions between nation/state formations.
