Ida Fagervold is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Sociology and Human Geography. Her research focuses on political geography, social movements, democratization processes, and gendered perspectives in political resistance, with a regional specialization in Southeast Asia and Burma/Myanmar. She holds an M.Sc. in Human Geography (2021) and a B.Sc. in International Development Studies (2018) from the University of Oslo, with an exchange semester at the University of Hyderabad. Her work integrates interdisciplinary approaches, including political art and methods, to analyze land conflicts and forest conservation in Kawthoolei, Burma/Myanmar.

- Previously worked in civil society organizations and NGOs (2015–2021)
Research interests include authoritarianism, climate change impacts on political systems, and the role of art in social mobilization. Advises on Southeast Asian political dynamics and participatory methodologies.
