Kristian Stokke is a Professor at the Department of Sociology and Human Geography, University of Oslo. His research focuses on Political Geography, Democratization, and Social Movements in South and Southeast Asia, particularly Myanmar, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. He is affiliated with the Center for South Asian Democracy (CSAD) and has led comparative studies on citizenship politics in Indonesia and Myanmar.
