Ibrahim Abdelrazeq is an Associate Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at Rhodes College, located at 2000 North Parkway, Memphis, TN. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Ottawa (2013), an M.S. in Mathematical Sciences from New Mexico State University (USA), and a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences from Yarmouk University (Jordan). His research focuses on time series analysis, stochastic models in finance and actuarial mathematics, and goodness-of-fit tests for continuous-time processes observed at discrete times. He has published in journals like Statistics and Probability Letters and Electronic Journal of Statistics, and presented at conferences such as the Statistical Society of Canada Annual Meetings.
Abdelrazeq teaches courses including Probability Theory, Mathematical Statistics, and Elementary Statistics. He advocates a workshop-style pedagogy emphasizing student engagement and critical thinking. His teaching philosophy prioritizes enabling students to apply statistical reasoning across disciplines. He has also served as a teaching assistant at the University of Ottawa and taught at Whitman College before joining Rhodes College in 2014. Outside academia, he resides in Bartlett, Tennessee, with his family, enjoying travel and cultural exploration.
