Professor Ian Davis is a medical oncologist and holds the position of Professor of Medicine and Head of the Eastern Health Clinical School at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. He also serves as an Affiliate Professor at Deakin University, adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne, and holds roles at The George Institute and the University of New South Wales. His primary clinical focus is on urologic cancers, with research interests in cancer immunology and the biology of urologic malignancies.
He completed his MBBS (First Class Honours) at Monash University (1983) and a PhD in Cancer Immunology from the University of Melbourne (1997). Davis has published over 300 papers, attracted $30M+ in grants, and led over 200 clinical trials as Principal Investigator.
His research emphasizes genitourinary cancers, including bladder, renal, and prostate cancers. Recent projects include studies on PSMA-targeted therapies, immunotherapy combinations, and clinical trial design in metastatic prostate cancer. Davis chairs the ANZUP Cancer Trials Group, overseeing its Scientific Advisory Committee.
