Dr. Alison Zhang serves as a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at Macquarie Medical School and practices as a Medical Oncologist with Macquarie University Clinical Associates (MUCA). With five years of Consultant Medical Oncology experience, she specializes in genitourinary and gastrointestinal cancers, with particular expertise in prostate cancer treatment and research.
Dr. Zhang completed a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology and has submitted a PhD in translational prostate cancer. Her work at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre and with the ANZUP Trials Group has provided her with extensive experience managing large Phase 2 and 3 clinical trials. She has developed solid research connections and collaborative networks across Australia and internationally.
Her research primarily focuses on advanced prostate cancer treatments, particularly novel approaches like PSMA-targeted radioligand therapy and next-generation hormonal agents. Dr. Zhang's work bridges clinical practice with translational research to improve outcomes for patients with genitourinary malignancies. Her research fingerprint shows strong activity in Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer (100%), Prostate Cancer (91%), Lutetium 177 (82%), Enzalutamide (67%), and PSMA-targeted therapy (65%).
Dr. Zhang's publications demonstrate significant trends toward personalized medicine approaches in prostate cancer, with increasing focus on biomarker development and comparative effectiveness of different treatment modalities. Her work represents a shift toward more targeted therapies with improved benefit-risk profiles for patients with advanced prostate cancer.
