Dickon Hayne

Professor Dickon Hayne is a clinical academic at The University of Western Australia (UWA), leading urological research and education in urology. He holds positions as a consultant urological surgeon and Head of Urology for the South Metropolitan Health Service, WA. His research focuses on urological cancers, particularly bladder and prostate cancer, with emphasis on outcomes research, epidemiology, and minimally invasive surgery. He chairs the Bladder, Urothelial and Penile (BUP) Cancer Sub-committee of ANZUP and leads trials such as BCGMM and SUBDUE.

Prostate cancer management, exercise interventions, and telehealth approaches. Development of patient-reported symptom indices and AI-driven biomarkers.

• Lead investigator for major grants including NHMRC-funded BCG+MM Trial ($1.5M), SUBDUE series, and WA Cancer Network grants

Labs & Teams: Leads ANZUP BUP subcommittee, collaborates with Valar Labs on AI biomarkers, and directs cystectomy databases and clinical trials.
