Ian Berg is a Lecturer in Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies at Tufts University, adjunct professor at Endicott College and Boston University, and a guest lecturer. His primary affiliations include Tufts' Aidekman Arts Complex and his tap dance company Subject:Matter. He holds a BFA in Contemporary Dance Performance from the Boston Conservatory (2016).
Research interests focus on tap dance practice/history, choreography, and interdisciplinary performance. His work integrates musical composition, contact improvisation, and diverse dance styles. Notable awards include the 2018 'Rising Dance Star,' 2019 Bessie Schonberg Fellowship, and 2020 Massachusetts Cultural Council Choreography Fellowship.
