Hyuna Choi

Hyuna Choi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages at The University of Texas at Arlington since September 2022. Previously, she served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at UTA (2019-2022) and taught Korean language at Pukyong National University (2014-2017). Her roles include extensive teaching experience across multiple institutions, including ESL teaching in South Korea and New Zealand.

• Education: MEd in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language (Pukyong National University, 2015), BA in English Language & Literature (Dong-A University, 2004)
• Certifications: Korean Language Teacher Level 2, TESOL Certificate

Her research interests focus on language pedagogy, teaching methodologies for Korean as a foreign language, and cross-cultural communication. She has consistently taught courses like BEGINNING KOREAN I/II and INTERMEDIATE KOREAN I/II at UTA since 2019. Notably received the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2019.

Active in academic service, she serves on the MODL Ambassador Committee since 2022. Her career spans over two decades, including elementary ESL teaching roles and international teaching experiences.
