Katie Lee is a Lecturer in Korean at the Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management & International Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, a position she has held since 2018. She holds an Ed.D and M.Ed in Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology in Education from Temple University. Her professional expertise spans applied linguistics, language pedagogy, sociolinguistics, cross-cultural communication, and second language writing in Korean and English.
Dr. Lee has extensive teaching experience across the U.S. and South Korea, including roles at Temple University, Drexel University, and the South Jersey Korean School. She previously taught college composition at Temple University and has led teacher training programs for Korean ESL educators in South Korea and an ESL certificate program for K-12 teachers at Arcadia University. She is an active member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and holds ACTFL certification as an OPI tester in Korean.
Her work bridges language education, cultural exchange, and pedagogical innovation, with a focus on multilingualism and intercultural competence in global contexts.
