Heeyeong Jung is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of East Asian Studies at Brown University, specializing in Korean Language Pedagogy and Sociolinguistics. She has previously taught Korean language courses at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2019-2022), Harvard University (2012-2020), and Middlebury Language Schools (since 2016).

She also investigates sociolinguistic phenomena, particularly linguistic style shifts in Korean and Japanese discourses, examining how speakers use language to construct social identities and meanings through indexical analysis.
