Hyojin Kwon is an Assistant Professor in the School of Architecture at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She co-founded Pre- and Post-, a research-oriented design practice based in Boston and Seoul. Her work explores how digital media impacts design methodologies and broader cultural, environmental, philosophical, and socio-political contexts, with a focus on the interplay between digital media and physical artifacts in contemporary urbanism.

Research Interests: Her research bridges digital innovation with urban and architectural frameworks, examining how computational tools reshape cultural narratives and socio-environmental dynamics. She emphasizes the material and conceptual reciprocity between digital processes and built environments.

Professional Experience: Prior to her academic role, Kwon practiced at firms including OMA, SOM, and Populous. Her installations have been exhibited globally, including at the Museum of Brisbane, Tokyo Designers Week, and CICA Museum. She has also taught at Harvard, Yale, and the University of Pennsylvania.
Practice: Pre- and Post- investigates speculative design strategies, blending academic research with real-world projects to interrogate the future of urbanism and media-saturated environments.
