Hussein Adebayo Ibrahim

Dr. Hussein Adebayo Ibrahim is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and the Built Environment at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), where he joined in 2023. He serves as Course Director and Distance Learning Coordinator for the MSc in Project Management. His academic journey includes a PhD in Construction Technology and Management from the University of Malaya (2018), an MSc in Construction Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and a BSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

His research spans sustainable and circular construction, modern methods of construction (MMC), concrete technology, and construction project management. The recent publications highlight a strong trend in utilizing industrial and agricultural waste (e.g., palm oil clinker, construction and demolition waste) in concrete, aiming to reduce environmental impact and promote circularity in construction. His research integrates experimental studies with intelligent modeling techniques to predict concrete behavior and optimize mix designs for sustainability and performance.

Dr. Ibrahim is actively involved in academic service, serving as a peer reviewer for journals such as Construction and Building Materials, Journal of Science and Technology, Frontiers in Built Environment, and Cleaner Waste Systems.

He supervises postgraduate students and teaches modules in project management, civil and construction project management, engineering management, and research methods. His teaching emphasizes both theoretical foundations and practical applications in construction and engineering contexts.

Dr. Ibrahim’s research contributes to the advancement of sustainable construction materials and practices, with potential applications in green infrastructure, urban development, and climate-resilient building systems. His industry and research experience across Nigeria, Malaysia, and the UK provide a strong interdisciplinary and international perspective.
