Hussein A. Amery is a Professor in the Department of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at the Colorado School of Mines, where he specializes in water politics and policy. He previously served as Chair of the department, Associate Provost, and Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Faculty, reflecting his leadership in academic administration.
His research focuses on critical water issues in the Middle East, particularly water and food security in the Arab Gulf states. He explores Islamic perspectives on water management and analyzes trans-boundary water conflicts and cooperation along the Litani, Jordan, Nile, Tigris, and Euphrates rivers.
