Huihao Yan is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Stan Ross Department of Accountancy, Zicklin School of Business, City University of New York. He holds a PhD in Accounting from Duke University, an MA in Economics from Duke University, and a BA in Economics from Peking University.
- Research Focus: Information intermediaries, algorithmic trading, price efficiency, and climate change disclosures.
- Teaching: Accounting Information Systems (ACC 3202) since Fall 2020.
His research explores how information flows shape financial markets, with recent work analyzing geographic transmission of analyst insights, climate policy impacts on firm value, and technological disruptions in auditing. Publications span topics from goodwill impairments to equity incentive design, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement with finance, economics, and sustainability.
Service roles include coordinating the 2024 Accounting Research Workshop Series and serving as a discussant/reviewer at conferences like the Hawaii Accounting Research Conference and AAA Annual Meeting. Current projects examine real effects of algorithmic trading and loss recognition dynamics.
