Howard Gunston

Howard Gunston is a Full-Time Lecturer in the Program in Writing & Rhetoric at Stony Brook University, where he also earned his MFA in 2017. He teaches writing and hosts a podcast on the craft of writing. Gunston’s work spans fiction and creative nonfiction, with publications in Blue Monday Review, Ricky’s Back Yard, and TSR: The Southampton Review. His experimental flash fiction piece "Full Stop" was shortlisted for the 2016 Ice-Nine Writing Contest.

Research and creative interests focus on innovative narrative techniques, the intersection of digital media and literary craft, and pedagogical approaches to creative writing. His podcast explores contemporary writing practices and challenges.
