Holly Attar

Holly Attar is an Associate Teaching Professor of Viola, Director of the Music Preparatory Division, and Master Teacher of the NKU String Project at Northern Kentucky University. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Viola Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music from the North Carolina School of the Arts, and a Bachelor of Music Education from Central Michigan University.

Research & Interests:
Dr. Attar focuses on music education, viola performance, and community outreach. Her work emphasizes accessible music education through innovative programs like the NKU String Project and Music Preparatory Division. She authored A Handbook for Collegiate Studio Teaching, integrating educational principles with music instruction.
