Olga Taimanov is a faculty member in the String Division of the Carnegie Mellon University School of Music's Preparatory School since 2005, specializing in violin and viola instruction. She holds a Master of Music from the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, Russia, and an Artist Diploma from Duquesne University. With extensive orchestral experience, she has served in principal and associate roles in ensembles such as the St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra, Israel Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra, and Pittsburgh Opera. Her career includes performances with renowned orchestras under conductors like Zubin Mehta and collaborations in international chamber music festivals. Taimanov’s teaching focus combines her performance expertise with pedagogical mentorship, and she is affiliated with the International Music Festival “Interharmony.”
