Hollie Newman

Hollie Newman is a full-time Lecturer in Criminology and Programme Lead for the MSc Criminology at the University of Chichester. She additionally serves as Marketing Officer for The Human Factor Professional Learning Programme and sits on the Apprenticeship Progress Review Team.

Her educational background includes:

• BSc in Communication and Media
• Post-Grad Conversion & Diploma in Psychology
• MSc in Criminology

Her research centers on psychosocial factors in sexual violence, abuse, and trauma recovery as a member of the Sexualised Violence and Abuse Research Lab, developing empowerment-based interventions for survivors. Concurrently, her part-time PhD investigates systemic barriers preventing police personnel from reporting sexual misconduct among colleagues, emphasizing organizational culture and reporting pathways.

Prior to academia, she gained extensive frontline experience in police public protection units, Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) operations, and MARAC coordination for high-risk domestic and honour-based abuse cases.
