Hendrik Zimmet is a Senior Lecturer at Monash University, affiliated with Alfred Hospital and Epworth Richmond. He specializes in heart failure management and stem cell therapy research, currently completing a PhD in this area. His clinical roles include visiting Heart Failure Cardiologist at St. John of God Hospital, Ballarat, and undergraduate teaching at Monash.
Education: Graduated from the University of Melbourne, completed physician training at Royal Melbourne Hospital, advanced training in General Medicine at the Alfred, and Cardiology training at Epworth Richmond and Flinders Medical Centre. Fellowship in Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology (2011).
Research focuses on stem cell therapy for heart failure, with projects funded by the National Heart Foundation and Cardiac Society of Australia & New Zealand. Clinical interests include refractory heart failure, device therapy, and pulmonary hypertension.
Teaching: Involved in medical student training at Epworth Richmond. Grants: Two active research projects as Principal Investigator.
