Dr. Hebba Haddad is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Psychology at the University of East London (UEL), based in the School of Childhood and Social Care's Department of Psychology & Human Development. Her research focuses on psychological and social dimensions of transport, wellbeing, and environmental sustainability. She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Exeter, supported by an ESRC CASE studentship with the Met Office, and has held postdoctoral positions at Imperial and King's College London.
Her work integrates mixed methods to explore climate change communication, risk perception, and sustainable urban systems. She leads environmental psychology modules for UEL’s BSc and MSc Psychology programs, emphasizing innovative teaching methods like virtual reality (VR) and applied improv. Key collaborations include the Sustainability Research Institute (SRI) at UEL and the Centre for Transport & Society (CTS) at the University of the West of England.
Research interests span environmental psychology, transport policy, public health, and inclusive disaster risk reduction. Recent projects include studies on Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and participatory flood evacuation models with schoolchildren. She is a member of the International Association of People-Environment Studies (IAPS) and Women in Transport.
Teaching responsibilities include modules on environmental psychology and sustainability, while her advisory roles focus on policy integration for net-zero targets in small businesses.
