Hayley German

Hayley German is the School Director of Postgraduate Taught Programmes at the Huddersfield Business School, part of the University of Huddersfield’s School of Business, Education and Law. She is a member of the Centre for Sustainability, Responsibility, Governance and Ethics. Previously, she held positions including Lecturer at the University of Bradford School of Management and Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Catolica Lisbon School of Business and Economics. She earned her PhD in Organisational Behaviour from Durham University in 2012.

Her research focuses on organisational justice, fairness, leadership, and workplace dynamics, with particular emphasis on time’s impact on justice perceptions and gender-related telework challenges. She has published extensively on topics like justice judgments over time and task-relevant fairness. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an Academic Member of the CIPD.

Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to gender equality and decent work. Recent research includes a 2024 study on gender disparities in telework childrearing impacts. She actively supervises PhD students and engages in innovative teaching practices, as seen in her 2025 presentation on VET teacher methodologies.

Key achievements include a Google Scholar h-index of 3 (118 citations) and Scopus metrics showing 57 citations with an h-index of 2. She has delivered over 500 citations across peer-reviewed journals and chapters.
