Harriet Hedden

Harriet Hedden is a Lecturer in the MA Illustration and Visual Media program at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. She is an active artist and curator whose interdisciplinary practice spans painting, print, sculpture, and film.

Her educational background includes studies in painting in the UK, two years of research in Freiburg, Germany under Prof. Peter Dreher at Albert Ludwig Universität, and an MA in Fine Art Printmaking from the Slade School of Fine Art, funded by an AHRC scholarship.

Harriet's research and artistic practice centers on the human body as a site of experience, vulnerability, and transformation. She explores fluidity in material and form, subjectivity in medium, and the reimagining of self and society through making. Her work engages with themes of embodiment, materiality, desire, and the invisible dimensions of experience. She uses a variety of media including three-dimensional structures that are mutable and reconfigurable, challenging static representations.

Her artistic output has been exhibited and collected by major institutions such as the British Museum, Tate Modern, Deutsche Bank, and the Tassos Printmaking Archive. She has curated projects in collaboration with Tate Modern, Serpentine Gallery, Mulberry, Mayfair Art Weekend, and Kid’s Company.

Harriet has previously taught Fine Art and Design at prominent art schools including UAL’s Central Saint Martins and Chelsea College of Arts.
