Hae-Ra Han is a Professor and Associate Dean for Community Programs and Initiatives at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, with a joint appointment at the Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her work focuses on health literacy and equity for underserved populations.
Research Interests
Dr. Han’s research transforms traditional healthcare paradigms by empowering patients to navigate health systems. Key areas include:
- Health literacy improvement for ethnic minorities
- Cervical cancer screening in immigrant communities
- Chronic condition self-management (dementia, diabetes, hypertension)
- Community-engaged research frameworks
- Social determinants of health
