Ha Ji-soo is a full Professor at Seoul National University, serving in the College of Human Ecology, Department of Clothing and Textiles. She leads the Fashion Design Lab and teaches a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses centred on fashion creation and theory.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of fashion design, costume design, and art. She focuses on creative studio practice, 2D and 3D fashion studio methodologies, fashion collection development, and the conceptual dialogue between fashion and contemporary art. Through these themes, she advances both practical design innovation and critical discourse in apparel studies.
At the undergraduate level, Professor Ha instructs 2D Fashion Studio, 3D Fashion Studio, Fashion Design Concept, and Fashion Collection. Graduate offerings include Costume Design Theory, Fashion Design Concept Research, Special Lectures on Fashion Design, and Fashion and Art, reflecting her commitment to integrating theoretical depth with studio practice.
As head of the SNU Fashion Design Lab, she mentors emerging designers and oversees research projects, exhibitions, and fashion shows that translate academic inquiry into public engagement. Her lab serves as a hub for collaborative experimentation across textiles, silhouette innovation, and cross-disciplinary art-fashion installations.
