Park Joo-yeon

Park Joo-yeon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Textiles, Merchandising & Fashion Design at Seoul National University's College of Human Ecology. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, an M.S. from Iowa State University, and a B.S. from Seoul National University. Prior to joining SNU in 2019, she held faculty positions at Colorado State University (2008-2019) and the Colorado School of Public Health (2017-2019).

Her research focuses on wearable ergonomics, anthropometrics, human factors in apparel design, and virtual 3D technology applications. She directs the WEAR Lab (Wearable Ergonomics + Anthropometrics Research Lab), which develops innovative wearable solutions for real-world problems including firefighter safety gear, medical textiles, and body image studies.

Her publications demonstrate strong interdisciplinary work spanning occupational safety, virtual reality psychology, sustainable fashion, and healthcare apparel. Recent studies frequently examine body image perception through digital interfaces, ergonomic interventions for protective equipment, and socio-cultural aspects of body weight.
