Jeon Jae-hoon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Clothing and Textiles at Seoul National University's College of Human Ecology. He has held this position since September 2019, following his service as Assistant Professor from September 2015 to August 2019.
His educational background includes a Ph.D. (2007-2010) and Master's degree (2005-2007) from Seoul National University's Department of Clothing and Textiles, and a Bachelor's degree (1993-1997) from Yonsei University's Department of Clothing and Environmental Sciences.
Professor Jeon leads the Fashion Aesthetics Lab, which focuses on four main research domains: Fashion Aesthetics examining the expressive function of clothing and body-clothing relationships; Fashion Media analyzing fashion content across traditional and digital platforms; 3D Printing Fashion exploring design innovation through technology integration; and Sustainable Fashion researching strategies to reduce the industry's environmental impact.
He has received 15 prestigious academic awards between 2017-2022, including multiple Outstanding Paper Awards from the Korea Apparel Industry Association, Korea Fashion Design Association, and Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles.
Prior to his academic career, Professor Jeon gained valuable industry experience at major Korean fashion companies including E-Land, CSWIN, Kolon Integral, and MK Trend, providing him with practical insights that inform his research and teaching approach.
