معرفی
Assoc. Professor Gregory Peoples is an Associate Professor of Physiology at the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Wollongong. His research focuses on the physiological roles of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) in optimizing heart, muscle, and brain performance, particularly in athletes and extreme environments. He has over 80 peer-reviewed publications and authored the AIS Fact Sheet on omega-3 fatty acids. His work also explores endurance physiology, human performance limits, and extreme environments.
Teaching Responsibilities include coordinating the Cardiovascular Block (MEDI991) and supervising higher degree research students in areas like omega-3 interventions, respiratory protection in smelters, and eccentric cycling post-surgery recovery. He has supervised over 20 completed PhD/MPhil projects and currently oversees research on omega-3 impacts in older adults and rugby injuries.
Research Interests emphasize omega-3’s role in athlete performance, military personnel health, and sports-related brain health. Grant funding includes projects on interprofessional learning, soldier readiness, and cold-weather clothing verification for defense applications. His work bridges nutrition, physiology, and applied health, with a focus on translational outcomes for military and athletic populations.
Notable collaborations include partnerships with the NRLW Dragons and the Australian Defence Science and Technology Group. His interdisciplinary approach addresses real-world challenges in sports performance, military resilience, and aging populations.
