Greg Ozbirn

Greg Ozbirn is a Senior Lecturer III in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), affiliated with the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. He has held this position since 2000. His academic preparation includes an M.S. in Computer Science from Southern Methodist University (2000) and a B.S. in Computer Science from Harding University (1987).

Before joining UTD, Ozbirn taught at Southern Methodist University (2000–2002), Richland College (1994–2000), and Collin County Community College (1993–2000). Professionally, he worked as a Programmer-Analyst at Texas Instruments from 1988 to 2000. He received the UTD Excellence in Teaching Award in 2003, reflecting his dedication to education. His expertise spans computer science fundamentals, software engineering practices, and computer engineering principles, informed by both academic and industry experience.
