Daniel Hodan is a Lecturer I at the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology, University of Texas at Dallas. He has been an Adjunct Faculty at Dallas County Community College District since 1972, teaching Applied Guitar, Music Fundamentals, and Music Appreciation. His roles include Lecturer at UTD (1980–1984) and Teaching Assistant at Southern Methodist University (1974–1976). Hodan specializes in classical guitar performance and education, with notable achievements including awards from the University of Texas Brownsville Guitar Festival (2010).
He has extensive performance experience, including engagements with the Tommy Irvin Band, Folk Like Us, and the Tornado Brothers Band. He served on the Artistic Advisory Board of the Dallas Classic Guitar Society (1990–2000) and performed in master classes led by renowned figures like Jose Tomas and Pepe Romero. Hodan has adjudicated competitions such as the Collin County College Classical Guitar Competition (2010–2012) and the UTD International Guitar Competition Youth Division (2010–2013). His work extends to community outreach through performances and educational programs.

Performance & Advocacy: Hodan has performed in Madrid’s Chamber Arts Festival, the 2010 Texas Guitar Competition opening ceremonies, and collaborated with William Kanengiser in a concerto performance. He holds Texas Teacher Certification in Music (All Levels) and has contributed to ASCAP as a songwriter.
