Randall Lehmann is a Senior Lecturer III in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University (1996), and M.S. and B.S. degrees from the University of Illinois (1976 and 1974).
His research and professional interests span microwave engineering, RF design, millimeter-wave technology, and MMICs. He has authored over 30 publications and holds six patents. His teaching philosophy emphasizes character development alongside technical expertise, earning him the 2014 Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award.

Lehmann’s career includes roles at Texas Instruments, Raytheon, and TriQuint Semiconductor, where he held positions such as Manager and Director. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a registered Professional Engineer in Texas. He has served on IEEE committees, including the International Microwave Symposium Steering Committee, and contributed to editorial roles for the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques.
His professional awards include the 1998 IEEE MTT-S Microwave Application Award for innovations in MMIC low noise amplifiers and the 1996 Outstanding Engineer Award from IEEE-Dallas. He actively participates in academic outreach, such as the RF Mini-Symposium at Baylor University.
