Rajiv Shah is a Clinical Professor of Management at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas (2008–present). He holds a B.Sc. in Physics from Ferguson College, Pune, India (1972), an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Applied Physics) from Rice University (1976), and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Chemical Physics at Caltech (1979). His professional career includes leadership roles at Texas Instruments, MCI Network Services, and Alcatel, focusing on strategic planning, technology development, and M&A due diligence across telecommunications, semiconductors, and laser industries.
Research interests center on corporate strategy, technology commercialization, and cross-industry partnerships. He pioneered the Systems Engineering and Management Program at UTD, a joint initiative with the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science.
- Honors: Awarded Alcatel’s top 0.5% Corporate High Potential, MCI Summit Club membership, and India’s National Science Talent Search Scholarship.
- Community roles: Led Industry Advisory Boards at SMU and UTD, served on Metroplex Technology Business Council, and held leadership positions in homeowners associations.
