Dr. Mohammed Z. Ali is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). He joined UTD in 2002 and holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the same institution. With over 25 years of industry experience, he has held technical and managerial roles at companies like FlexSolv Networks, HP, and Verizon. His research focuses on optical and wireless communications, IoT sensors, healthcare communications, smart grid, and power electronics. He has authored three U.S. patents, one European patent, and numerous publications.
Dr. Ali’s teaching portfolio includes courses like Digital Communications, Advanced Engineering Mathematics, and Introduction to Optical Systems. He is an active IEEE member and recipient of inventor awards from Alcatel USA. His work bridges academia and industry, emphasizing practical engineering solutions.
