Dr. Ali Kujoory serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Engineering Science at Sonoma State University, a position he has held since September 2003. He teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses, including:
- Introduction to Networking
- Network Management
- Digital Circuit and Logic Design
- Analog and Digital Communications
- Electronics
- Linear Systems Theory
- Communications in the Digital Age
Prior to joining Sonoma State University, Dr. Kujoory held significant industry positions:
- Lead Systems Architect at Alcatel (over three years), leading projects on Voice over Packet, Passive Optical Networks (PON), and Next-Generation SONET.
- Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories (sixteen years), where he conducted pioneering research on Quality of Service (QoS) for real-time Internet applications and led the AT&T team in ATM standards development.
During his tenure at AT&T, he also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science programs at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.
Dr. Kujoory's educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, University of Pennsylvania, 1974
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, University of Pennsylvania, 1971
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, American University of Beirut, 1966
He is a Life Senior Member of IEEE and has been recognized with several awards:

Dr. Kujoory has published extensively in technical journals and conferences and holds multiple U.S. patents in the fields of IP applications, Quality of Service, and broadband networking technologies.
