Grazia SEMERARO is a Full Professor of Classical Archaeology at the University of Salento, Lecce, Italy. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Naples (1989) and is affiliated with the Department of Cultural Heritage. Her research focuses on Mediterranean archaeology, with emphasis on Classical Archaeology, GIS applications in excavations, and the study of ancient Greek and Roman pottery. She leads major archaeological missions in Turkey (Hierapolis) and Malta (Tas Silg), and directs excavations in Southern Italy (Castello di Alceste, Cavallino). She is also the scientific responsible for the Laboratory of Archaeological Computing (LIA) at the University of Salento.

Her research interests include phenomena of cultural interaction in Magna Graecia, settlement patterns in Southern Italy, and the archaeology of ancient cult sites. She has extensively published over 100 articles and monographs, and contributes to editorial boards of journals like Studi di Antichità and Archeologia e Calcolatori.
