Dr. Gordon Spence is an academic staff member at the University of Sydney's Coaching Psychology Unit, specializing in coaching psychology, exercise science, and workplace wellbeing. He holds a PhD in coaching psychology and has over a decade of experience in higher education, previously serving as Academic Program Director and Head of Students at Sydney Business School, University of Wollongong.
His research focuses on behavior change innovations for midlife adults, employee engagement, and healthy aging. He co-edited the Sage Handbook of Coaching (2017) and served as editor-in-chief of Philosophy of Coaching: An International Journal. Notable publications include studies on coaching efficacy, client-alliance dynamics, and leadership development outcomes.
