Gordon Menzies is an Associate Professor in the Economics Discipline Group at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Business School. His research focuses on ethics in economics, monetary policy, international economics, and econometrics. He has worked at the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Australian Federal Treasury, and holds a PhD from Oxford University. Menzies has been Deputy Director of the UTS Paul Woolley Centre and a visiting scholar at the Oxford Martin School. He is known for winning the Arrow Senior Prize (2010) for his paper on 'Inferential Expectations' and his book 'Western Fundamentalism: Democracy, Sex and the Liberation of Mankind' critiquing neoliberalism.

Research Interests: Examines societal impacts of economic theories, particularly how market metaphors oversimplify social interactions. Explores debt relief mechanisms, financial regulation, and the cultural effects of economic thinking. Active in reforming economics education through the CORE curriculum.
