Glyn Peter Davis is a Professor of Film Studies and Director of Research at the School of Philosophical, Anthropological and Film Studies at the University of St Andrews. He specializes in queer visual culture, experimental cinema, and avant-garde film history. His work bridges theoretical and historical approaches, with a focus on LGBTQIA+ studies and European queer archives.
Previously, he held roles at the University of Edinburgh, Glasgow School of Art, and University of Bristol. He leads major projects like Cruising the Seventies (funded by HERA) and Perverse Collections (JPICH), exploring queer sexual cultures and archival preservation. His publications include Queer Print in Europe and The Richard Dyer Reader.
He serves on the AHRC Peer Review College and Third Text board. His research emphasizes queer temporalities, media representation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
