Paul Elliott

Dr. Paul Elliott is a Senior Lecturer in Film Production at the University of Worcester's School of Theatre, Film and Media Production. He holds a PhD in film studies and specializes in British film, avant-garde cinema, and the intersection of philosophy and film. His research explores experimental documentary, the impact of artistic philosophies on filmmakers' representations of reality, and film archives.

He teaches modules such as Truth, Reality and the Documentary Film, Hollywood and Beyond, and Cinema and Modern Life, emphasizing film as a cultural and philosophical medium. Notable works include Hitchcock and the Cinema of Sensations, Guattari Reframed, and Studying the British Crime Film.

Elliott is currently working on a book about experimental documentary and owns an original 1929 Surrealist manifesto. His teaching and research reflect a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches, blending cultural studies, film theory, and avant-garde practices.
