Gina Apostol is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Barnard College's Department of English. She is a critically acclaimed novelist, essayist, and short story writer known for works exploring Philippine history, postcolonialism, and cultural identity. Her publications include the award-winning novels *Insurrecto* (2018), *The Revolution According to Raymundo Mata* (2021), and *La Tercera* (2023), which blend historical fiction with contemporary socio-political analysis. Apostol has been honored with the Rome Prize, PEN/Open Book Award, and two Philippine National Book Awards.
Her education includes an M.A. in Writing Seminars from Johns Hopkins University and an A.B. in English from the University of the Philippines. Research interests focus on postcolonial literature, narrative forms of history, and the interplay between colonialism and cultural memory. Her essays and stories have appeared in *The New York Times*, *Los Angeles Review of Books*, and other prominent outlets.
Apostol has held residencies at Civitella Ranieri and Emily Harvey Foundation, and served as Writer-in-Residence at Vassar College and Phillips Exeter Academy.
