Gillian Roehrig

Gillian Roehrig is a Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Minnesota's College of Education and Human Development. Her work spans STEM education, science teacher development, and culturally-relevant pedagogy for Native communities.

Her research focuses on inquiry-based teaching, teacher induction programs, and integrating engineering into K-12 science education. She leads the NSF-funded EngrTEAMS project and collaborates internationally on STEM integration models.

Recent work examines culturally-relevant STEM approaches for American Indian youth through grants from NSF, NASA, and the Cargill Foundation. She prioritizes networked mentoring for students, emphasizing independence and advocacy.
