Gillian U. Bayne is a Professor of Science Education in the Department of Middle and High School Education at Lehman College, City University of New York, holding a dual appointment in the Urban Education Department at CUNY’s Graduate Center. With over thirty years of experience, she specializes in science teacher development and doctoral mentorship.

Her research applies sociocultural theory to address systemic inequities in STEM education, focusing on marginalized communities globally.
