Mario Gonzalez-Corzo is a Professor of Economics at Lehman College of The City University of New York (CUNY), where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Economics and Finance. He concurrently serves as a Lecturer in Finance at Columbia University's School of Professional Studies (SPS). His primary affiliation is within the Department of Economics and Business at Lehman College.
Dr. Corzo holds a PhD in Economics/International Relations, along with M.A. degrees in Economics, International Relations/Global Affairs, and Political Science, and a B.A. in Economics. He has completed certifications including Executive Education in Value Investing at Columbia University and a Graduate Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Rutgers University.
His research focuses on financial asset ownership patterns, labor market trends in the U.S. financial sector, entrepreneurship in transition economies, and Cuban economic reforms. Specific emphases include agricultural reforms and non-state sector development in Cuba. He serves as a Faculty Fellow at the Bildner Center for Western Hemisphere Studies at CUNY's Graduate Center and contributes as an editor for the Cuban Economy section of the Handbook of Latin American Studies (HLAS) at the Library of Congress.
Professionally, he has advised global financial institutions like PricewaterhouseCoopers and JP Morgan Chase, providing strategic risk management for clients in Latin America and emerging markets. His career bridges academia and financial services, with notable expertise in international economic policy and institutional investment strategies.
