Dr Gillian Lamb is a Visiting Lecturer in Modern British History at King's College London, affiliated with the Department of History. She joined King's in 2023 and previously taught at the University of Oxford.

- DPhil in Nineteenth Century Welfare and Child Migration, University of Oxford
Her research focuses on social history, particularly working-class histories, migration, childhood, welfare, and poverty. She employs life course analysis to study social mobility among disadvantaged children in Victorian institutions and examines the impact of emigration on their futures.
Recent work includes a National Trust and University of Oxford-funded digital toolkit on childhood history. She has published on topics such as Victorian child protection policies and 1980s British tax resistance.

Dr Lamb is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and collaborates with heritage organizations for public history projects. She serves on the steering committee for the Centre for the History of Childhood at the University of Oxford.
