Gilles Marseille is a Lecturer in Art History (contemporary period) at the University of Lorraine since 2014. He is affiliated with the Department of Art History & Archaeology at UFR SHS Nancy and serves as Director of the department since 2024. His research focuses on urban architecture, heritage conservation, and 20th-century art history.

Recent publications analyze Art Deco historiography, urban planning dynamics, and digital archival systems. His civic engagement includes leading preservation efforts for 20th-century buildings in Nancy and neighboring regions.
Teaching spans bachelor's to master's programs, covering history of architecture (19th-21st centuries), relationships between arts and architecture, and professionalization modules. He has also held educational leadership roles since 2014.
Partnerships include collaborations with AMAL, STAP 54, and architectural firms for heritage awareness and specification books.
