Anne-Sophie CACHAT is a part-time lecturer in Architectural History and Culture at both the National School of Architecture of Strasbourg (since 2017) and the National School of Architecture of Nancy (since 2022). She holds a PhD in Architectural History from the University of Strasbourg (2022), where she completed her dissertation on Eugène-Elie Beaudouin, a significant 20th century French architect and urban planner. Her academic career combines teaching responsibilities with active research in architectural history.
Her research interests focus on 20th century architectural heritage, urban planning, reconstruction projects, architectural education in France, and diplomatic buildings. She has published extensively on Eugène Beaudouin's work, particularly examining the Rotterdam housing estate in Strasbourg, Beaudouin's teaching methods, and his international architectural exchanges, including connections with Iran. Her publications span academic journals, conference proceedings, and book contributions.
Her recent research includes work with the ANR EnsArchi program on 20th century architectural education and a mission for DRAC Grand Est. She has presented her research at numerous national and international conferences, demonstrating her active engagement with the architectural history community. Her teaching focuses on architectural history courses for first-year architecture students, covering periods from antiquity through the 20th century, with special emphasis on reconstruction projects and urban development.
