Professor Gill Windle is a Chartered Psychologist and Gerontologist at Bangor University’s School of Health Sciences, specializing in interdisciplinary research to improve care for older adults and people with dementia. She leads the Dementia Services Development Centre Wales (DSDC) and is Associate Director of the Wales Centre for Ageing and Dementia Research (CADR). Her work focuses on enhancing resilience, reducing caregiver distress, and informing policy through mixed-methods studies and large-scale trials, such as the £1.48M NIH-funded iSupport project. She contributed to the UoA3 REF 2021 submission (ranked 15th nationally) and has secured over £19.8M in research funding. Her research spans dementia diagnosis pathways, digital health interventions, and rural health inequities. She has advised Welsh Government on dementia strategy implementation and co-authored foundational policy documents like the 2005 Healthy Aging Action Plan.
